About the Conference MendelNet 2015

Conference proceedings from MendelNet 2014 have successfully passed the exacting criteria of Thomson Reuters and have been included in the Conference Proceedings Citation Index

This year it is going to be the twenty-second time when the Faculty of Agronomy at the Mendel University in Brno is organizing the MendelNet conference. The faculty considers the platform of gatherings and exchange of opinions regarding solved scientific topics a very important part of PhD students´ preparation for their future research work. Therefore, the nine sections that will open this year are reflecting not only the wide scope of postgradual studies offered by the faculty but also the interest of participants from other national and foreign universities.

In the course of its existence, the MendelNet conference has undergone a substantial development that has reflected developments at the university, namely the faculty. However, the conference’s goals and mission stay the same – to provide students with a platform to present results of their scientific work and enable them to defend these results in front of an expert committee. The competitive character of the conference has been a motivation for students and has created a healthy competitive climate among them. The conference gives students the opportunity to publish results of their work in the electronic version of the conference proceedings of the fulltext contributions. The conference proceedings are annually evaluated by the Thomson Reuters and Elsevier companies for inclusion into prestigious scientific databases WoS and Scopus. The completion of the organizers´ effort is the inclusion of the MendelNet contributions from years 2010 and 2011 into the WoS database. Last but not least, it is necessary to emphasize the “educational” aspect of the conference as the correct research and publication practice must be respected by all conference participants.

Therefore, in the name of the Organizing Committee, allow me to invite you for participation at the MendelNet 2015 Conference and at the same time I want to wish you creative atmosphere at contribution preparation. Conference MendelNet 2015 is held on 11 and 12 November 2015 at MENDELU.
